toe is a Japanese music group. While mentioned in many post-rock circles, their song structure and dynamics are similar to many popular math rock artists.
toe is composed of Kashikura Takashi on drums, Mino Takaaki on guitar, Yamane Satoshi on bass guitar, and Yamazaki Hirokazu on guitar. Toe has formally played with this line-up since the band’s inception in 2000. They are currently one of three bands on the indie label Machu Picchu, along with the band mouse on the keys and Enemies.

The vast majority of the music is instrumental and features the swift and acute drumming of Takashi. The band is also known for its melodic, clean guitar settings. Additionally, the compositions have repetition from typical rock motifs, but use very subtle changes in beat and rhythm to form a unique sound. The band has changed their sound over their musical tenure by incorporating acoustic guitars, rhodes piano, and vibraphones in their most recent releases.

Fuo - Resource

Artist: Fuo
Album: Resource
Genre: Post-rock, Math-rock
Label: Unsigned
Year: 2012
From : Hamburg, Germany

Tracklist
01. Aberrämmchen 05:41
02. Birth, School, Work, Work, Work 09:32
03. Romanesquo 07:59
04. Tsuji Town (Won't You Take Me To) 06:18

As an art ensemble, Fuo alternates unreliably between being a sextet with full string section and surprisingly appearing as a minimalist noise duo. Right now comprised of drummer Martin Schwendemann, bassist Leif Rumbke and a growing pile of cable salad and devices like floor organ, bells, synthesizer and further electronics, Fuo is exploring musical formats under the 'sometimes, less is less'-ideology, at least concerning personnel. Both members bring their honed-in musical skills of numerous past bands glory to Fuo. Full-length albums Shmuzzle and Anachron were released in 2007 and 2009 respectively. While Fuo is carrying on with creating fresh duo material, the third long player in big band shape is currently in the mix by Daniel Gädicke of Xrfarflight fame and should follow in late 2011.

Silian Rail - Each/Other

Artist: Silian Rail
Album: Each/Other

Year: 2012

05. shapes 04:49
06. a fit or a fever 07:01
07. each/other 02:14
08. goodnight, no blame 05:33

Silian Rail is Robin (guitar) and Eric (drums, foot synth, glockenspiel). They play instrumental music which combines richly complex, open-tuning, finger picked guitar playing with aggressive, intricate drumming. Their songs are constantly shifting mazes of rich melodies and intense rhythms, equally epic, fragile and explosively dynamic. They are long lost friends who grew up together in North Carolina and parted ways at 13, only to re-meet by chance years later in California. Drawn together by the shared history of their musically rich hometown and the sheer oddball luck of the situation, they began playing music together. They immediately found it quite delightful. They have played with great bands like From Monument to Masses, Maserati, Tartufi and Judgement Day. Sometimes they play places like Bottom of the Hill, sometimes they play at sweaty houses. Other things about them: performed original live scores four years running for the Madcat Women's International Film Festival, collaborations with visual artist Luke Judd, proud members of Thread Productions (East Bay Express' Best Music Collective of 2007), alongside Tartufi and Low Red Land......They are both interested in the weather, but Robin checks the forecast ahead of time, while Eric kind of likes to be surprised.

Adebisi Shank - This is the Second Album of a band called Adebisi Shank

Artist: Adebisi Shank
Album: This is the Second Album of a band called Adebisi Shank
Genre: Electronic, Math-rock
Label: The Richter Collective & Sargent House
Year: 2011
From : Wexford

Tracklist
01. International Dreambeat (free) 03:50

07. Bones 02:52
08. Frunk 03:06
09. Europa 03:56
10. Century City 05:05

Released to European acclaim in 2010, the aptly titled second album from Irish electro/math rockers Adebisi Shank achieved North American release this year thanks to the peerless Sargent House.

The management company / record label describes the trio as a blend of Fang Island’s shredding riffs with Battles’ electronic quirkiness and rhythmic playfulness. That description isn’t off the mark, but readers won’t get a sense of the band’s real abilities until they hear its hyper-melodic, polyrhythmic, and — most importantly — jubilant songs in full.

Second Album delivers a maelstrom of zany electronics, unusual distortions, and triumphant, rapidly ascending scales mixed with vintage synths, marimba, horns, and other accoutrements. This is all packaged between and around gloriously catchy and powerful rock riffs, resulting in a manic and buoyant sophomore effort.
