Originally formed in 2007, amplifiers has evolved into what it is today. A four piece Pittsburgh powerhouse. With sounds that draw from indie acts like Circa Survive and The Dear Hunter to Post Rock such as Explosions in the Sky and Sigur Rós to industrial 90s rock such as Tool, Nine Inch Nails. It's a unique and powerful sound that is a series of juxtapositions.

The culmination of a year-long recording project, throughout 2011, for which bell monks wrote, recorded, and released a 2-track mini-album each month (nearly 2 hours in total). at the end of the year, friends and musicians were invited to remix some of their favorites. the finished album, let the waves carry us, includes 9 of the original 24 songs, with some re-recorded and new additional parts, and is being released along with 12 remixes, most of which are dramatic re-imaginations of the original tune.

múm are an Icelandic pop band with euphonic, yet tumultuous leanings, mixing sound with music and vice versa. The group has taken many forms and shapes since it started in 1997 and rarely cease to surprise and confuse.

Early Birds ends with a contemplative piece that’s 10 minutes long and comprised of field recordings, harmonica, accordion, and lots of room for reverb (you could almost call it Dub). In this case the song title pretty much translates to “No one was listening to the fiddler, because the fiddle-strings were broken (why can’t you be good to your mother?)”. This final track ultimately became the “Ballad Of The Broken String” on múm’s debut album “Yesterday Was Dramatic – Today Is OK” (2001), though this early version is indeed quite different. When the debut dropped, múm had found their sound. The rest is history: The band was hailed as a key exponent of “Electronica”, and with every release they sounded more and more unique and complete – only to become what might be Iceland’s most original band today. Early Birds showcases the formative years and perfectly illustrates this evolution, though at the same time it shows that things could’ve turned out quite differently. Plus, it also proves one other thing: Yesterday was OK, too. The compilation album comes with nostalgic artwork by Ingibjörg Birgisdóttir who experienced the early days of múm first hand. Both the LP and CD version include a booklet that explains how each of the 15 (mostly instrumental) tracks came about.

ITSNOTYOUITSME was formed in Harlem, NYC in 2003. Members Grey Mcmurray and Caleb Burhans met while attending the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. They played in various musical settings together while in school, including a large improvising group called Dialects, heavily influenced by ambient, free-jazz and post-rock musics. Grey and Caleb moved to New York soon after and formed itsnotyouitsme as a means of continuing the aesthetic and objectives of Dialects. In order to create a large sound with the new stripped-down instrumentation, they began using looping devices, which play a significant role in performance as well as in the compositional process. Along with their own material, itsnotyouitsme has since performed works by composers ranging from J.S. Bach to Philip Glass.

Oneirism is an experimental project that merges elements of progressive rock, sludge and metal. Their strong guitar leads and solid rhythm section allow for aggression to fuse with melody and the dramatic undertones of synths and keyboards. Their lack of vocals gives way to their multi-layered tracks where one has to pay attention to distinguish the various underlining riffs. Unlike so many other bands of the genre they can control the flow of their songs without overdrawing and abusing the length.

The band is a combination of Cypriot musicians that are considered veterans in their respective scenes. Their base of operation however shifts from Cambridge and Bristol, England, to Toronto, Canada. It is worth mentioning that the clarity of their production is rare among musicians who opt to record, produce and master their own music using nothing but their own equipment.
